Former Medical Director of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Dr. Thomas Winsum Anaba has filed his nomination forms to contest the 2024 parliamentary elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress in the Garu constituency of the Upper East region.
The revered socialist and first-time parliamentary candidate successfully filed his nomination with the Electoral Commission (EC) on Wednesday, September 11.
The event, initially planned as a moderate affair, transformed into a vibrant celebration with a massive crowd, brass band and motorcade.
He was accompanied by prominent party executives, the constituency council of elders, women's wing, campaign team and enthusiastic supporters.
In his remarks, Dr. Anabah expressed gratitude to supporters and emphasized the need for a fact-based, respectful, and disciplined campaign.
He urged the masses to embrace the NDC's vision for Garu and the nation as a whole, warning against intimidation and electoral fraud.
Dr. Anabah also addressed the NPP, cautioning against the use of the disputed Walewale primaries as a "dress rehearsal" to threaten the December polls.
He assured supporters that the NDC would defend their votes and ballot boxes, ensuring a free, fair, and credible election.
