Election 2024: Ghana's Year of The Elephant: Mahama No Be Bawumia

Election 2024: Ghanas Year of The Elephant: Mahama No Be Bawumia

“Have you not seen how your Lord annihilated the Army of the Elephant?” queried the Qur’an 105:1.

My fellow frustrated Ghanaians, at this juncture, it is okay to ventilate our bitterness, anguish, disgust, and indignation at the government for its eight years of economic and political scam however we may wish, including the exercise of our franchise against it come December 7.

I however implore you not to make the simpleton mistake of putting all political parties in one basket by refusing to take up our own destiny in the upcoming election. It’s abundantly clear, that there’s palpable difference between the National Democratic Congress, and the New Patriotic Party: Mahama no be Bawumia.

If a piece of fried fish gets missing in the room of a cat and goat, it's the cat that must take the blame, not the goat.

The National Democratic Congress, NDC, and the New Patriotic Party, NPP, are, yes, political parties but one of them is a political drug baron; a political vulture which chooses piracy of politics over honesty, decency, integrity, probity, and accountability.

It therefore baffles me and disgusts me at the same time, those Ghanaians who say they are rather confused and disappointed in the two political parties. For me, anybody having this kind of thought when they never mistake their nostrils for their mouths in the middle of a meal is simply being disingenuous and acutely economical with the reality, truth and facts.

There’s certainly a clear difference between the exchange rate in 2016 and the exchange rate today 2024. Forty billion borrowed under Mahama can’t be the same as over 600 billion borrowed by a man who thought it was incompetence to borrow the former. Dr. Bawumia invented his own economic performance barometer, and he shall be judged according to it in this is election. Mahama no be Bawumia. And those who think both NDC and the NPP are the same, require psychiatrist assistance. Such are the real developmental traducers to our country. They are the true other version of Patriots - the "New Patriots" whose sole purpose in the country's political dispensation and experimentation, is purveying of falsehood, enablers of evil, supervisors of state-sponsored economic malfeasance, corruption, thievery, armed robbery, and criminality.

That the NPP claiming to be liberal democrats, yet have hijacked social intervention projects such as National Health Insurance and Free SHS education, speaks volumes of their clandestine cynicism and fraud! No wonder such projects have served as vehicles for kickbacks!

Say what you like, the idea that politicians and sanitary pads have one thing in common: they both ought to be changed, is highly applicable in this year's election. Although the NDC was not supposed to be changed, had Ghanaians been clairvoyant enough.

The NDC is not the NPP in the management of people, and truth and falsehood can never be the same: Mahama no be Bawumia.

The anti-people level of corruption and economic mismanagement by the NPP sing praises to the devil. Though not run by angels, the NDC is far germane, humane and considerate in the management of our paltry resources.

Nonetheless, many frustrated, dejected, disappointed, hungry and angry Ghanaians have vowed not to keep recycling political scavengers. Well, I say to them in re-echoing the words of Yaw Buaben Asamoah to Ghanaians, "reconsider your decision not to take part in the 2024 polls".

There's a political dictum by Thomas Hobbs which admonishes that, "a wise man who refuses to partake in politics would be ruled under the government of the foolish". Ghana can’t continue under this brazen and flagrant thievery! Not only should Ghanaians ensure they come out in their millions, they must pray for a change.

The gangsterism, criminality, state-capture armed robbery we are witnessing today has been occasioned by lack of participation in our political processes by majority of the masses.

During his acceptance speech as the Republican vice presidential nominee, the former Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence to Donald Trump, said, "I am a Christian, an American, and a Republican, and in that order". Implying, he is a Christian with moral values first, then he is a loyal patriot to the constitution of the USA second before being a political animal as the third position. Indicating that, his allegiance is first of all to God, then to America as his country before to the political ideology he subscribes to. And indeed, when Donald Trump wanted him to assist in not only annulling the 2020 presidential election but rigging it in his (Trump) favor as the Veep who had the final say as far as declaration of the USA election result was concerned, Mike Pence realized the gravity of what such a cheat could mean to the American democracy. Pence decided to stick to his values by being Christian, American, before being a Republican! He never overturned the election result which Joe Biden won in favor of Trump, the Republican party or himself in order to tighten his grip of power as the second gentleman of the USA.

Fellow citizens of Ghana, our case in Ghana is not far from the ordeal of the USA in 2020 going into this year's presidential election. In our case, it's not the Veep but the president who literally declares Ghana as an Akyim State, and will do anything to keep his proxies in power. Unlike Mike Pence, Akufo Addo has no moral values. He is the reverse of Mike Pence. Akufo Addo is an NPP first (the Akyim version), an Akan (or Akyim), a Southern Ghanaian, and a syncretic Christian. As a result, in matters of dire consequences for the country, he chooses Akyim first, Akan, Eastern Region, Southern Ghana, before Ghana. This is why president Akufo Addo has refused to step aside after messing up the economy. Ghana today is not Ghana in 2016 with gigantic debt incurred with nothing to show for it except a slideshow of scandals of corruption and cash disappearances! No wonder the Central Bank of Ghana has shrugged into losses today!

Make no mistake. His choice of a northern Veep was imposed upon him. One, because of his primordial tribal jingoism and bigotry; two, because of his lack of grasp of the economy; three, he needed a puppy Veep to manipulate.

In all this, however, fellow Ghanaians, there's glimpse of hope. In Sha Allah, this most corrupt army of the Elephant has come to the end of their road of fraud, scam – political buccaneering, economic voodoo, and endless national embarrassments.

Has anybody noticed that since the inception of this government, our national image and pride has dwindled significantly? It has been a trio of pain, shame, gloom and doom. It has been humiliations after the other, in spots, politics, economy, education, and almost every sector of our national face.

But the chicken is coming home to roost. It's being cathartic in recent times with the jading jingle of the empty sloganeering trumpeted by the unprincipled and shameless minions of the NPP. Their coup-de-grace and destruction is around the corner come December 7, 2024. In Sha Allah.

Permit me to borrow a famous phrase from the holy Qur'an, "have you (O Prophet Muhammad) not seen how your Lord destroyed the Army of the Elephant?" Qur'an 105:1.

With the staggering and uncommon economic mess due to the avaricious greed of Ghana's Army of the Elephant with their emblem of an Elephant who deceived God with the construction of a fraudulent Cathedral, it won't be a hyperbole to equate the current state of the nation to the period in the Islamic history known as the Year of the Elephant. It's especially intriguing with the emblem of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, being an "umbrella" with the head of a "bird".

With over thirty-nine (39) presidential hopefuls already jostling and have their hats thrown in the ring, nobody needs a political doomsday soothsayer or prophet, to second-guess to him or her that, there's unprecedented dissatisfaction in the current Ghana's "Commander-in-thief". In fact, if not because of my underage and the fact that, president Mahama has been chosen by God to rescue the country from our nation’s batterers, “I go contest some”.

Don’t you realize, of late, that every idiot wants to be either the president of Ghana or a Member of Parliament?

Today, the difference between president Nana Akufo Addo and the harmless thief or the disquieting armed robber, is the quantum of assets and cash stolen in this country.

It pains me in the marrow, aches me in the heart, and bites me in the butts, that some sycophantic followers of the NPP, despite the fissiparous and unvarnished hell of incompetence displayed, still beat the TomTom for the party to stay in government.

What chicanery, tomfoolery, and buffoonery is this?

For the first time in the history of this country, we have never seen over forty presidential candidates. It's usually less than ten, and at most, fifteen candidates, in the case of presidential primaries.

There are some political useful idiots who are under the optical illusion that, the rise in the number of these presidential aspirants connotes progress in our democracy. For such politically shortsighted mud throwers, there's the possibility of political underdog case scenario. Hence, this year's election is a toss-up and much more of a coin-flip. To think this way, there are two things involved. It’s either such analysts are under the influence Indian Marijuana, or they are participants in the massive corruption of this government. Because, it’s the most gibberish and infantile political conspiracy theory that must be consigned to dustbin of ignorance, unguarded whim and caprices. Both the economic turmoil and political ambience are classic testament to the reality that the current government has not only messed up, but destroyed itself.

Fraught with a Cathedral, an Elephant, and the never-seen scale of thievery and corruption, the NPP are undoubtedly destroyers of our nation that God has targeted for destruction! Certainly, God is going to use the "bird" of the NDC to destroy them like He destroyed Abrahah Ata and his army of the Elephant.

In the said history, captured in the Qur'an (105:1-5), it's narrated that, when the Abbyssinians (present day Ethiopia) drove out the Persians from Yemen, Abrahah was appointed as the governor of the territory with its capital at Sana'a. Abraha realized the love of God by the Arabs, and Mecca was the center of rituals for Arab religious consumers due to the Holy Ka'ba built by the first man to ever set foot on earth Adam (A.S) as the first House of worship. But the it fell into ruins and was renovated by Abraham and his son Ishmael.

Abrahah the governor of Yemen decided to divert attention of the Arabs from the Ka'ba by constructing a magnificent CATHEDRAL seeking to entice the Arabs.

Unbeknownst to Abrahah the significance of the Ka'ba to the Arabs, was shocked to realize his CATHEDRAL was abandoned. Nobody paid any visit to it. Instead, even Arabs of Yemen also trooped to Mecca and the Ka'ba. Abrahah became enviously furious and decided to demolish the Ka'ba with an army of soldiers led by thirteen absurdly fat elephants. Upon hearing about the military campaign of Abrahah with creatures unfamiliar to the Arabs of Mecca (the elephants), they fled the city. With nobody to fight, God then sent a flock of birds with each bird carrying three stones with their beaks and claws. And after brief success against some of the Arabs on Abrahah's way to Mecca, he and his entire army of elephants were annihilated by the birds.

Thus, God protected His Holy House (the Ka'ba).

Fellow Ghanaians, unless those of us who are often our own national enemies, and whose allegiance to political parties trumps their loyalties to our dear nation, every level-headed Ghanaian, both denizens and citizens, indigenes or settlers, know that election 2024 is not an ordinary election. It's an election for the destruction of the army of the elephant. It is a battle for the survival of this geographical expression called Ghana.

Ghana has been under a siege by an Army of the Elephant of Akufo Addo, who are more cruel-hearted and monstrously green-eyed than Abrahah and his Army in the year 570 AD.

However, like Allah sent the flock of birds to annihilate these enemies, God has sent the "bird" of the NDC to destroy the evil Army of the Elephant of the "Agyapadie" descent.

Those who live by the sword, certainly, shall perish by the word! Election 2024 is karmic in character. And that’s quite refreshing and relieving.

In Sha Allah, I Shall Return
