Nana Oguahyia Oduro-Panin Birikorang, the Chief of New Edubiase in the Adansi South District of Ashanti region has destooled Nana Amoako-Tuffour, chief of Abedwum ending his three-year reign.

Professor Joseph Amoako Tuffour is a revered Ghanaian economist and a Secretary to the Economic Management Team chaired by the Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia was destooled at the Omanhene's palace on Tuesday, August 13.

The dethronement of Nana Amoako Tuffour follows allegations of his disrespect towards Nananom.

He also faced accusations of orchestrating the destoolment of some sub-chiefs under his jurisdiction.

Before being sworn in as Abedwumhene, he brushed off suggestions that his political career would interfere with his chieftaincy duties, an advice he refused to admit.

He always held the entrenched position that his political career wouldn't impede in his way as he was poised to serve Ghana and his subjects.

But according to Edubiasehene, Nana Amoako Tuffour has refused to honor his oath.

Speaking at his palace, Nana Oguahyia Oduro-Panin Birikorang revealed that, Nana Amoako Tuffour is never a member of the Royal family.

Edubiasehene added that Nana Amoako Tuffour was invited but refused to honour his invitations 14 times.

He therefore urged Nananom to restore powers to the sub-chiefs who were destooled by Nana Amoako Tuffour.

He also instructed nananom to seize every property owned by the community but owned by the dethroned chief.

The Edubiasehene in addition to being a wise leader, also considers the future of the country's development and sustainable economy. He has made a commendable move, one that is common in advanced nations. To further the growth of our beloved country, Ghana, other chiefs must aspire to this. All failed politicians shouldn't be given the chance in Ghana's politics again.
