Member of Parliament (MP) for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak has reacted to the announcement by Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, clearing John Dramani Mahama of bribery allegations related to the Airbus SE scandal.

In a short statement, the MP said it is proven that the former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is incorruptible.

“We have always maintained that the so-called Airbus saga, as far as John Dramani Mahama is concerned, was a bogus allegation being propagated by the 'Mother Serpent of Corruption' led NPP government and its operatives. God has once again exposed the corrupt Akufo-Addo and Bawumia NPP government and its sidekicks.

“After all the accusations, insults, and noise, the OSP has exonerated John Dramani Mahama of any wrongdoing in the Airbus saga. John Dramani Mahama remains incorruptible,” Dr. Clement Apaak said in a statement shared on X.

Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng addressed a press conference on Thursday, August 8, to provide an update on an investigation conducted by his Office into the Airbus bribery scandal.

In his briefing, the Special Prosecutor said there were no evidence to substantiate that President John Dramani Mahama received a bribe in the deal between the government of Ghana and Airbus for the purchase of military aircraft.

“The OSP found no evidentiary basis that suggests that Samuel Adam Foster also known as Samuel Adam Mahama, and Sarah Davies received payment from Airbus with the intention of bribing former President John Dramani Mahama or any other public official. Further, the OSP found no evidential basis that suggests that former President John Dramani Mahama or any other public official was paid bribes by Samuel Adam Foster also known as Samuel Adam Mahama in respect of the purchase of Government of Ghana military transport aircraft from Airbus,” Kissi Agyebeng said.
