NDC Anyaa-Sowutuom should not forget the fierce primary battle between Janet Keturah Naa Ashong and Emmanuel Allotey for the parliamentary seat. The recent court judgment, which ruled in favor of Keturah Naa Ashong and ordered Francis Ankrah, the Campaign Manager of PC Emmanuel Allotey, to pay her GHS 551,500.00, raises serious concerns about Allotey’s integrity and loyalty to the NDC. The ruling, dated December 13, 2023, underscores the financial and moral lapses within Emmanuel Allotey’s campaign.
The court's decision followed a contentious period marred by accusations, insults, misogynistic behavior, and allegations of prostitution leveled against Keturah by Allotey's camp. This behavior reflects poorly on Allotey’s character and suitability as a parliamentary candidate. Furthermore, allegations have surfaced that Emmanuel Allotey borrowed money from the NPP Constituency Youth Organizer in Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency, known as OT, to finance his primaries campaign. Such actions, if true, would undermine his loyalty to the NDC and suggest a potential for sabotage from within.
There is a troubling precedent within the NDC regarding members accepting funds from rival parties. The late Dr. Nii Armah Josiah Aryeh, former General Secretary of the NDC, was suspended over similar allegations of receiving $3,000 from Mr. Steve Ntim, now the National NPP Chairman. When the allegations were made, the NDC leadership launched an investigation and took decisive action by suspending Dr. Aryeh to maintain the party’s integrity. The current allegations against Emmanuel Allotey warrant a similar investigation.
The NPP in Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency claims that Emmanuel Allotey is working for them, and NDC leadership must take these claims seriously. The party cannot afford to overlook the potential "insider threat" posed by members whose actions and affiliations betray party loyalty. Concerned members of the NDC in Anyaa-Sowutuom Constituency are embarrassed by this development, and it is imperative that the NDC leadership, especially Chairman Asiedu Nketiah and General Secretary Fiifi Kwetey, investigate these allegations thoroughly to ensure the party's values and integrity remain intact.
The court’s judgment against Francis Ankrah, the Campaign Manager of Emmanuel Allotey, does not only question his moral compass but also casts a shadow on his dedication to the NDC. The NDC must act swiftly and decisively to address these issues, ensuring that candidates represent the true spirit and loyalty of the party. It is therefore imperative that the NDC leadership critically evaluate Emmanuel Allotey's loyalty due to concerns about his commitment to the party’s values and objectives. Any indication of wavering allegiance that could undermine the party’s agenda must be addressed to ensure NDC candidates elected to Parliament truly represent the party’s values. This scrutiny is essential to maintaining a strong political front in Parliament.

As a master's degree holder who decides to write an article less than 20 paragraphs I thought you would have done your checks thoroughly. Addressing Francis Ankrah as the PC's campaign manager alone indicates you were fed with misinformation which you equally failed to cross check. The PC took money from the NPP youth organizer? Where's your evidence? Modern Ghana you issue a disclaimer to this and yet you allow such balderdash to be spewed using your outfit? Shamelessly exhibiting your ignoranc...
