First time voters encouraged to actively participate in the ongoing Limited Voter Registration exercise

The Agona West NPP Parliamentary candidate for the December 7th General Elections, Mr. Chris Arthur has encouraged first time voters in the country to participate fully in the ongoing Limited Voter Registration exercise.

According to the Parliamentary candidate, that would be the only way they could exercise their democratic rights of choosing credible candidates to spearhead the development of the nation.

" As a youth and for that matter a first time voters, it behooves on you to take advantage of the ongoing Limited Voter Registration exercise so that you can exercise your Civil rights to choose competent and credible people who can spearhead the development of the country with honesty.

Having voting rights empower you to participate in good governance and democracy through the ballot box during elections that is to choose political leaders into various positions that would improve human and infrastructure development,"

Mr. Chris Arthur stated these when he visited the ongoing Registration centers in the Agona West at Agona Swedru and Agona Otsenkorang respectively.

" I want to stress the importance of the youth especially First Time voters to embrace this registration exercise and also play an active role in shaping the future of their communities in particular and Ghana as a whole.

The youth ought to get themselves involved in every activity that would lead to job creation opportunities aimed at reducing unemployment rate as well as to build a prosperous and inclusive society," Mr. Chris Arthur noted.

The Agona West Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Evans Addison Onomah Coleman expressed his satisfaction of work done by the Agona West Municipal Directorate of the Electoral Commission led by Mr Annobil Forson.

He however cautioned that the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) would deal drastically with any person or groups of people who would attempt to disturb the peaceful exercise in the Municipality.

Accompanied by the Agona West Municipal Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Evans Addison Onomah Coleman, the Agona West constituency Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Gibrine Tanko, Agona West 1st Vice Chairman of the NPP, Mr. Frederick Boateng and the Agona West NPP Nasara Coordinator, Mr. Haruna Rasheed, the Parliamentary candidate and his team interacted with the first time voters stressing the need for them to comport themselves during the process.

Mr. Chris Arthur also had interaction with Officials and Registrants to get firsthand information about the registration process.
