Cape Town named Africa’s Best Airport 2024 by Skytrax

Cape Town International Airport has been honored as having the best airport amenities and customer service in Africa based on the prestigious Skytrax World Airport Awards.

The Skytrax Awards are viewed as the global standard for measuring airport customer satisfaction, surveying over 500 airports worldwide.

Air travelers from more than 100 countries participate yearly by rating their experiences at airports.

Within Africa, Cape Town International Airport took the top position, placing 54th internationally - dropping from 47th the prior year.

Airports are not permitted to lobby or pay fees to take part in the Skytrax survey or awards.

The results solely reflect customer feedback and votes cast.

During the survey period from August 2023 to March 2024, travelers gave Cape Town high marks for its facilities, staff assistance, shopping options, and dining selections.

Also demonstrating South Africa's leadership in airport passenger experience across the continent were Durban's King Shaka International Airport and Johannesburg's Oliver Tambo International Airport, coming in globally at 72nd and 83rd respectively.

While some airports may provoke mixed views, the Skytrax Awards recognize facilities that make the most positive impression on flyers according to their direct surveys.
