Market Women Agona Swedru in the Agona West constituency say they prefer Mr. Chris Arthur, one of the aspiring candidates for Agona West NPP Parliamentary primaries to lead the party as Parliamentary candidate to retain the seat for the party.

They therefore appealed to all the delegates to consider voting massively for him to make campaigning towards the general elections easier for party in the constituency.

According to him, he stands the chance of winning the 2024 parliamentary elections in the Agona West constituency.

They indicated again that Mr. Chris Arthur through his ChrisCares Foundation has touched the hearts of many people in Agona West which has relieved financial stress and anxiety associated with paying many bills and other family obligations.

The women expressed the hope that delegates would adhere to their plea and elect Mr. Chris Arthur as a parliamentary candidate accordingly.

These came to light when Mr. Chris Arthur paid a surprise visit to the traders at Agona Swedru Central Market to seek their support for his candidature.

"I know most of you are not delegates to vote for me during the primaries, but I decided to visit you to talk to the delegates who are your brothers and sisters to vote for me to retain the seat for the NPP.

"Your love for Chris Arthur is overwhelming, I know you are seriously campaigning for me to be given the nod. I appreciate your unflinching support for me and with God on our side, we will surely win the battle on the voting day.

"Chris Arthur is a household name in the Agona West constituency and you are the best witnesses to attest to the fact that he is the only one capable of retaining the Parliamentary seat for the party. I came here to seek for your blessings and encouragement for the battle ahead," Mr. Chris Arthur stated.

Madam Elizabeth Annan, popularly known as 'Maa Lizzy' a member of Swedru Market Women for Chris Arthur noted that they defied the heavy rains to meet the aspiring candidate because of his numerous contributions through ChrisCares Foundation and support for the vulnerable in the society.

"Mr Chris Arthur has been able to enrol a number of youth into nursing and teacher training colleges, most of which have graduated and posted to their various stations.

"As Director of Technical Services of the Youth Employment Agency, Mr. Chris Arthur has assisted a good number of the youth as well to be employed in Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service and Ghana Prison Service and are serving as Service Assistant in the aforementioned services, this has reduced underemployment in the Agona West Municipality and beyond.

"ChrisCares Foundation has its footprints in every community in Agona West in the areas of women empowerment, paying of bills and other social services support for groups and Associations," Madam Elizabeth Annan stressed.

Other traders including Madam Charity Dankwa alias 'Sofo Maame' and Madam Suzzie affirmed their support for Mr. Chris Arthur.

Later in an interview with newsmen, Mr. Chris Arthur acknowledged the unflinching support of the market women saying it has rekindled the spirits of his hardwoking campaign team to work extra hard for the ultimate goal of winning the parliamentary primaries.

It will be recalled that the Agona West NPP Parliamentary primaries were put on hold due to a Court injunction filed by one of the aspiring candidates who was disqualified from the race by the Central Regional vetting Committee.
