Afenyo Markins and his like shouldn't be allowed to set the national agenda

Akufo Addo, Bawumia, Ken Ofori Atta, Asante Bedietuo, Garby Okyere Darko, and the rest of this cabal. They inherited a situation that was not adequate but was manageable. In fact, even the most diehard NDC sympathiser will attest to the fact that Ghanaians were not exactly basking in glory in the NDC era prior to 2017.

That acknowledged, this NPP under Bawumia and Akufo Addo have made things worse by a hundred, if not a thousand times. Everything they came to meet, the good and the promising things have been destroyed. And those difficult issues that existed prior to taking over in 2017 have now worsened. Ghanaians today have come to acknowledge their massive and painful regrets in trusting Akufo Addo in particular and in the NPP in general.

Ghanaians today have found favour and love in the NDC and in Mahama. Ghanaians believe that the NDC can not do worse than what's going on now. For instance, the dynamics in the NDC makeup will not allow one family in one tribe from one enclave to take control, and then capture the state and to dictate the interests and destiny of our nation as it is happening now.

The NPP as a whole and the Akufo Addo/Bawumia bandwagon in particular have come to the realisation that Ghanaians in an 8 to 2 ratio have fallen out of favour and out of love for the NPP brand. The leadership of the NPP knows that Ghanaians have grown wiser to their masterful ability of utilising corporate language to communicate an impression of intelligence insight and expertise. The NPP's use of corporate words to bamboozle stakeholders, this tactics has lost its appeal and usefulness in the ever-improving mindset and thinking power of Ghanaians.

Now, the NPP know Ghanaians no longer believe in their boastful and ill-thoughtout promises. They are no longer winning the intellectual arguments anymore due to their failure to actualize their previous theoretical policies. Ghanaians are no longer prepared to fall for the usual overused tricks of cheap, unimplementable slogans.The NPP's message this time around is flat, ator nsuo mu. Isn't it a shame that Bawumia has abandoned his duty as the head of EMT and now relying on an operational method of electronic computerisation as his main achievement and a campaign policy.

This does not make much sense. Digitisation on the whole can create some business and jobs for some enthusiasts and experts in that field. But computerisation or digitisation can and will also create job losses as recent market and trade dynamics have shown. An example is that while digitisation has eased accessibility to services otherwise provided by manual systems, it has brought about lots of AI computerised systems in supermarkets, workplaces, and even food joints.

Banks have shut many local branches because services that once required a cashier or a bank staff to deliver can now be done on mobile phones using an app. Not many til operators are needed in supermarkets these days due to the emergence of self-services and self-payment machines.

Many supermarket staff and bank staff and machine operators in warehouses have lost their jobs because of the introduction of automation and digitisation systems. Digitisation has its good uses, but if our objectives are to create jobs for people, the most potent tool to use, the best policy so far is the 24/7 economy concept.

The NPP, as Alan Kyeremanteng said, "has no message." They are losing the arguments and to make things more bleaker, Mahama and his NDC has come up with a well-thoughtout alternative which has the potential of growing more business, improving trade and thus creating more jobs for millions of jobless people. The 24/7 round the clock economy is the way forward. It is the future.

This is the discussion the NPP wants to curtail. Hence, all these dubious and cynical attempts to divert the attention of the Ghanaian public away from the real matters of interest, i.e., failure to fight corruption and the overall poor show in governance. This Afenyo Markins' ridiculous and senseless attack on Mahama's running mate, a person of integrity and of high academic aptitude in the person of Jane Naana Opuko Agyemang, this must not be seen as a one-off careless statement.

This has been planned in the smokey eco Chambers of the waning and increasingly fast becoming the insignificant NPP. Their strategy now is to thwart attention from NDC's positivities and deceive Ghanaians again with their usual arrogant posture, but in reality, they have nothing more to offer to Ghanaians Their message is ' no message'
