The Central Regional Coordinating Director, Mr. Micheal Owusu Amoako has entreated the staff of the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Assembly to desist from gossiping which does not only dent the image of persons but creates disunity.
He cautions them to desist from releasing official information to the public.
"Remember you may be in their positions one day and may suffer same faith, support them to succeed so that you will also be supported when you get there," he stressed.
According to him, local government workers are mandated to support government succeed in its policy implementation, hence, staff should be careful not to sabotage and undermine the activities of the government but work as a team.
Mr. Owusu Amoako said this today when he paid a working visit as part of his familiarization tour to the various district assemblies after taking over as the new Regional Coordinating Director.
As part of measures to ensure productivity and efficiency at the assembly, he entreated the HR to furnish the RCD with a monthly report on staff attitude, attendance and performance.
Additionally, the District Coordinating Director should set up a Technical Committee for proposal writing to solicit donor support to run some activities of the assembly.
On his part, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Gustave Atsu, (Esq) shared fond memories of the RCD when they worked together at Brong Ahafo and during the "Ghana @ 50" days, adding that it would have been difficult to get close to the RCD if there was bad blood between them when they worked together some time ago.
He therefore, advised staff to think of tomorrow in the discharge of their duties because they don't know what the future holds for them.
In congratulating the team for helping the assembly secure 95% score on DPAT assessment, he expressed regret some assemblies failed to meet requirements due to their failure to prepare certain periodic reports.
He mentioned the lack of vehicles, office equipment and other logistics as some of the challenges bedevilling the assembly.
He was hopeful the completion of the new assembly block would help address some of these challenges.
