So, now the almighty ECOWAS is questioning the legitimacy of the new military junta, which has siezed power from the democratically elected cabal in that country called Niger 🇳🇪. Mind you, such a cabal is scattered in Africa. These elected civilian power holders all have one thing in common. The idea is to follow religiously the first dictates of democracy. A win at the polls must be achieved at all costs. Then, thereafter, the needs of the voter will become a secondary matter, relegated to as far away as possible.
For the African Democrats, the most important thing is to secure power and then use that mandate not to address the issues of acute challenges of citizens. Conservative estimates put the wealth of rulers and their followers and their cronies in West Africa alone for the period 2000-2020 to be in the billions of hard currencies. The location of such wealth is definitely not in Africa, thereby making the citizens stay put in their miserable existence irrespective of which way they vote.
Military takeovers are not the way forward, so says lovers of multiparty democracy. But what choices are presented to a people if the clearly incompetent and in most cases, corrupt pretenders would do everything either foul or fair, just or injust to remain in power. The plight of a misgoverned people is likely to go unnoticed or unheard by a regional body such as ECOWAS or by the so-called International Community. But should the people through their representatives in uniform, and with guns take power by force, then all hell breaks loose within the neoliberal west and together with their surrogates in the localities, they would issue orders and threats. I.e., America and Europe will cry foul, and their stooges on the continent would concur.
As long as the non-performing government in Africa is in the good books of certain world powers, a failed government will enjoy the safety and support of the colonialists, the same oppressors, who have used us and humiliated us for hundreds of years. A ruling government in most third world countries will only have to do the minimum to secure the support of the USA and Europe. The rest is for the citizens to suffer and to endure. To recount on governance, how would anyone expect. Africa's rulers to perform for their people when they possess the options of having a huge potion of their wealth and properties in America and in Europe, kept wrll away from the prying eyes of the unsuspecting local citizens.
The idea is that troops will be sent to Niger to reverse a military takeover, which at the moment and from a simple aesthetics seems popular with the majority of Niger citizens. We wait to see how the ECOWAS will dutifully carry out the bidding of the US and France, and send ECOWAS military brigades to go kill plenty Nigerees and then reinstall the deposed president, who is remain kept in an enclosure some where, we believe for his own safety. Let's wait and see.
Meanwhile, Ken Ofori Atta says Ghana has turned the corner. He says indications on Ghana's economic matrixes show improvement. He says this is the work of God. Ya! Right! Turned the corner with or without those who's livelihood had descended into chaos, the making of He, Ken Ofori Atta and Bawumia, and now they speak and act with that irritating innocence, as though they had nothing to do with the collapse of the economy and subsequent suffering of Ghanaians. The guy has made himself very rich by making many Ghanaians poorer and knowing that fellow Ghanaians will forgive and forget at the mere mention of God. This guy should have gone long ago, but he is still here preaching the bible. What fools they make us look.
As he spews such garbage, the preoccupation of the rest of the cabal is where and how to secure a safe deposit for their millions of hard currencies. Eii Akufo Addo and his clan, what koraa did Ghana do wrong to attract this misfortune. Ken Ofori Atta, he thinks he clever. Just mention God, and Ghanaians will melt. This same method used hundreds of years ago by the early missionaries to soften the intellectual will of our ancestors, this has continued and now subjugation of the people by use of the bible is not only being done by the pentecosts but by politicians too. What a bloody, bloody shame.* mansa musa
