The heads of ECOWAS gathering at Guinea Bissau, another yearly ritual of activities to achieve not much....

This week, a group of mostly old men from individual West African States, making up the ECOWAS heads of states, have once again carried out the yearly ritual of gathering in one capital in the principality. They gather to present a show of relevancy known as ECOWAS meeting.

This week, these old and mostly ugly black West Africans( they don't come more uglier than own in the Flagstaff House). They had gathered in another dusty, wretched, smelly, and poverty-stricken country called Guinea Bissau 🇬🇼. They were there to apparently discuss and find solutions to West Africa's problems. This remote-controlled repeats of yearly rituals designed just for the aesthetic value unlike the assured relevant and positive results that accrues after European heads meeting in Brussels. Trust, after the talking and handshakes, not much will be achieved from this Guinea Bissau summit. This is because immediately after the nice neighbourly handshakes, almost each of those West Africa heads will then have to report to their superiors in Europe and in America, in Saudi Arabia, and in China for approval.

This wasteful, yearly ECOWAS durbar of mostly men with corrupt mindset is set to continue with no significant achievements because our leaders are not in control of any happenings in our regional. This meeting in Guinea Bissau is another unnecessary exercise in futility because majority of the 14 or 15 heads of states who gathered in the capital village of Guinea Bissau, over 90% of them still have the colonial dependency mindsets which compels them to have their heavy savings in European or American banks. Our African heads of states have their best hospitals in Europe or in America. They have their good educational institutions, for their families located in either Berlin, Paris, London, or New York. They have very expensive private mansions located, you know where.

On the other hand, European and American politicians will have their savings, not in Africa. Their children do not enrol in expensive universities in Africa, so huge academic fees do not flow into Africa. The European and American politicians have all their institutions of health, schools, good banks, bad banks, and their manufacturing bases, all located in their own neighbourhood. In essence, they have control over their own destinies. Quite simple.

But with the colonised black African mentality of having all your best things located thousands of miles from home. With such voluntary repatriation of massive capital(wealth) from Africa shores to the northern hemispheres since times of slavery, during colonial periods and up till now, how on earth do we expect to arrive at solutions to our collective predicament. Honestly, this ecowas summit will not amount to much. We as blacks depend too much on others. That's why. Just think about it.
