I have come across a write-up with the above heading, written by one Kwame Osam. It is written with the intention of undermining the statements made by Dr. Bawumia on his tour of the Ashanti Region, where he is currently receiving overwhelming endorsements across the region. Whiles writing to undermine the sacrifices Dr. Bawumia made in the supreme court during the 2012 general elections' petition hearing, he is also trying to make a point for Alan.
It is palpable falsehood to state that, Dr. Bawumia was one of the reasons why NPP lost the 2012 elections' petition. A point must be made clear that, it was the brilliant Dr. Bawumia who sacrificed and made NPP proud in the supreme court with his valid and verifiable facts. He stood firmly for the party and on behalf of the teaming members and delivered excellently at the supreme court to the admiration of the patriotic members of the party. Dr. Bawumia earned the massive support he is enjoying today right from the supreme court till now. It must be made clearly that, the decision by the justices of the supreme court was not unanimous decision against the NPP as in the case of the NDC'S 2020 elections' petition. The judgement, if Kwame Osam doesn't know was a 5-4 decision against the revered petitioners and our beloved NPP. We were proud losers.
It is also revealing for him to write that, one cannot give any evidence unless such a person has personal knowledge of the matter. This simply means that Alan had no any knowledge of what was going on and could not have defended the party in the witness box. Dear delegates, Alan's camp is telling you that, the 2012 elections we fought for, Alan had no any interest in it and for that matter could not have sacrificed for you. Thank God, Dr. Bawumia showed interest and gathered courage to lead the team to a great electoral battle at the supreme court.
It is always pathetic to hear Alan's supporters say that, Alan sacrificed for Nana Akufo-Addo to lead the party in 2008. What was the essence of that sacrifice when he wrote a resignation letter to the party when it mattered most? Where lies the supposed sacrifice and loyalty to the party?
He has also indicated in his write-up that, it was the prerogative of the petitioners to decide who serves as lawyers and witnesses. He has also made a point that Dr Bawumia was a Co-Petitioner to the petition. So, if a Co-Petitioner who has the right to choose who should be a witness tells you that some members were not ready to serve as witnesses, who are you to question his statement on that?
Yes, it is a fact as he indicated that, the petitioners chose their lawyers. So, if they deemed it appropriate not to include Lawyer Ayiko Otoo, what is his point here stating against Lawyer Ayiko Otoo's exclusion from the team of Lawyers who represented the petitioners? Or was Lawyer Ayiko Otoo ready to enter the witness box but was denied?
After knowing all the facts about the happenings at the final rally at Assin North Constituency, he maliciously revisited the issue and as usual of the Alan's camp, trying so hard to blame Dr Bawumia for the loss of the seat. It must be indicated that, no amount of malicious statements will stop the strong signal of Dr. Bawumia. The delegates are voluntarily connecting to the signal of DMB and do not have time for propaganda that has been explained over and over again. Was it not a communication gap that occasioned that? It was not the making of DMB nor Alan. The organizers took responsibility for that incident and apologized. Case closed and the propaganda is dead and gone.
Let me come back to his heading and situate it well for him and the discerning readers. The heading "be careful who you let on your ship, because some people will sink the whole ship just because they can't be the captain" is a clear case of 2008 general elections, where, Alan after realizing that, he was actually not the one on the ballot, tendered in his resignation letter to the party and allegedly attempted forming his own party. Alan actually succeeded in sinking the whole ship in 2008 by his deeds simply because he couldn't be the captain of the ship.
Thank you
