Convener for the FixTheCountry Movement, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has said the treason charges against him will not slow him down in his quest to hold Ghana’s democracy to account.
It can be recalled that the activist was arrested in February on arrival in Ghana at the Kotoko International Airport (KIA) after he said in a Facebook post that he will stage a coup in the country should Parliament go ahead to approve the Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy).
He was charged with treason felony before he was released on bail.
Today, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has stressed that neither charges of treason, bigamy, or sodomy will deter him from holding Ghana’s democracy to account.
“Not even Treason; Bigamy or Sodomy charges will slow down our conviction to hold our democracy to account,” the FixTheCountry Movement convener said in his post.
In another post, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has accused the Ghanaian media of being full of hypocrites.
He said the media has been silent on the alleged attack on Serwaa Broni by national security operatives while claiming that the operatives were sent by the President to retrieve his naked pictures.
Read the post below:
“President uses National Security to attack a citizen to retrieve his naked pictures.
“Média: Silent.
“Oliver writes a Facebook post, if the shito on my Waakye this morning is not a lot; I will do the coup myself.
“Média: OH My God; Ghana is about to collapse.
“This is the country you guys call a democracy?
