A warrant to arrest the Volta Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been issued on Wednesday, 5th May 2021, by the Aflao District Court.
The accused, Mr. Makafui Kofi Wanyah has failed to register his establishment into the Social Security Scheme thereby liable to a fine and/or imprisonment under Section 83 (1) (a) (g) of the National Pensions Act, 2008.
He failed to appear before the court after been summoned on two occasions, 28th April and 6th May 2021.
Since failing to register his establishment, he has allegedly not paid his workers’ contributions to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).
Several efforts to register these establishments by SSNIT officials proved futile.
