Encouragement must move from the pulpit to the pavement

I. MY BELOVED SISTERS AND DEAR BROTHERS IN THE LORD, today, let us move encouragement from the pulpit to the pavement. Let us move the godliness exhibited during Sunday church service to make it our everyday way of life. In 1 Thessalonians 5:14 God tasks us to "encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, and be patient with them all." Encouragement is a divine duty for every believer; it’s not an option. We don’t have a choice; it’s a responsibility. Our duty is encouraging the fainthearted, the weak, and the difficult. God puts them in our path on purpose. I encourage you to identify three people this week. Send them one verse that fits what they are facing, with one line: "This made me think of you." You will be shocked how far one verse travels. Your words must be backed by spiritual provocation. You must seek God’s face to identify those you must reach out to. If you ask God, he will definitely show you people you must reach out to this week. Ask the Holy Spirit for the courage to reach out.

II. MY DEARLY BELOVED BRETHREN, in Romans 12:10, scripture encourages us to "outdo one another in showing honour." Celebrate people out loud, in the group chat, after service, or in a meeting, for honouring is encouragement with a microphone and without one. Let us make it our habit to encourage one another. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Who is encouraging you? Identify people you enter into partnership with to encourage each other and remind one another always. Then move on to ask two people, "Will you speak life into me once a week? Progressive growth happens in circles, not in isolation. When you encourage, you are preaching the future to someone’s present. Tell the struggling parent, the seeds you are planting will grow. Tell the job seeker, "God is ordering your steps," and tell the one struggling in ministry, "Don't grow weary in doing good." Galatians 6:9. That is not flattery. That is faith. You are calling out what God has not yet revealed but has already promised.

III. DAUGHTER OF ZION, Jesus Christ set the example for us as He strengthened Peter. Jesus Christ told him, The devil is working to get you. "I have prayed for you... and when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers," Luke 22:32. Today, let the Holy Spirit lead you to pray for someone; let the Holy Spirit help you to consistently pray for that person. Letting people know that you are praying for them is also another form of encouragement. Jesus Christ told the disciples before the cross, "Let not your hearts be troubled." John 14:1. Today, encourage someone with these same words, my brother, my sister; let not your heart be troubled, for our Jesus Christ is with us always. Let someone know that he or she is not alone. Today, I encourage you not just to attend church but also to stir each other, provoke faith in each other, and remind each other that God is still moving. Romans 15:4 tells us that "For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope." As believers, we don’t just say it shall be well with you. It is a reassurance of what God said in Philippians 1:6: “that He who began a good work in you will complete it." The person you are seeing today might be going through some form of anxiety, and godly words from you will turn things around.

IV. SON OF MAN, Ephesians 4:29 cautions us, "Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up as fits the occasion so that it may give grace to those who hear." Corrupting talks have the ability to destroy life, but godly words build one. Henceforth, let your words edify. Let your conversation leave someone better. One sentence: "I see how hard you’re working, and God sees it too." "Your faithfulness with small things matters." Make it a habit. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 is both a command and a compliment. Paul says, "Just as in fact you are doing." That means encouragement can become our culture. So today, choose one person. Before this week ends, encourage them with Scripture, with presence, and with practical help. This is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! Remember that when we encourage one another, we are not just being nice, we are being biblical, we are being the Body of Christ, and we are being the hands of the Spirit. Who is one person God is putting on your heart right now that you can encourage this week?

V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—Church, our world has enough critics. It has enough comparison. It has enough noise. What it needs is people who will come alongside and say, "You’re not alone. God is with you. Keep going."

PRAYER: Father, make us a people who build, not break. Give us eyes to see who is weary, mouths that speak grace, and hands that carry burdens. Let our words be your word in someone’s darkest moment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
