After two Afrobeat hits that expanded her audience and revealed a playful new artistic edge, Dancehall sensation Aklerh is returning to the sound that first shaped her musical identity.
Her new single, “Wo Dor,” released under Revolution Records on Monday, October 19, is a warm, soulful homecoming to reggae dancehall and lovers rock — the genres that nurtured her earliest creative instincts.
“Wo Dor” — meaning “My Love” — is a lovers rock slow burn built on soft, melodic rhythms, mellow basslines and harmonies that cradle Aklerh’s honeyed vocals. It’s the kind of song that feels like a late‑night conversation with someone dear — intimate, unhurried and full of emotion.
“After exploring Afrobeat in my last two singles, ‘Wo Dor’ is a return to what first inspired me,” Aklerh says.
“It’s a demonstration of my versatility — my ability to swing between genres and freely express my creativity. Tubhani Music did well with this song, which marks my return to reggae.”
She adds, “‘Wo Dor’ captures the authenticity of lovers rock while highlighting my journey as an artiste — it’s soulful, timeless, and sure to connect with listeners across generations.”
Her Afrobeat singles “Amele” and “Good Vibes” showcased Aklerh’s command of contemporary rhythms and crowd‑moving hooks. With “Wo Dor,” she slows the pace and leans into a classic warmth, offering both longtime fans and new listeners a tender, melodic counterpoint to her Dancehall and Afrobeat catalogue.
Known for electrifying performances, Dancehall Queen Aklerh continues to bridge modern sounds with musical tradition — crafting songs that move both the feet and the heart.
