Ghanaian tourism and aviation professional and entrepreneur Mary Nyamekye Asamoah has been honoured with the Africa Travel 100 Tour Operators Award 2026 at the 22nd Akwaaba Travel Market in Nigeria.
Mary Asamoah, Chief Executive Officer of Spotless Travel and Tours and Spotless Aviation and Professional Training Institute, was celebrated alongside a select group of industry leaders from across the continent for their outstanding contributions to Africa’s travel and tourism ecosystem.
Her recognition crowns years of dedicated work in aviation, tourism, travel management and professional training — with a strong focus on creating memorable travel experiences and empowering young people to build careers in the sector.
Madam Asamoah’s passion for aviation and tourism began early, inspiring her to pursue a career in the airline industry. Guided by her entrepreneurial drive, she later established the Spotless Aviation and Professional Training Institute to offer practical, hands‑on training for young people interested in aviation, hospitality and tourism.
A standout feature of her initiative is the use of an aircraft as an office and training environment, giving students real‑world exposure to aviation operations. Her work has centred on equipping young people with the skills, confidence and industry knowledge needed to thrive in aviation and hospitality.
The Africa Travel 100 honour adds to her growing profile as a tourism and aviation entrepreneur committed to industry development and youth empowerment. Her journey — from cabin crew member to tourism entrepreneur and aviation educator — reflects a purposeful progression that blends business growth with skills training and mentorship.
The Akwaaba Travel Market, one of Africa’s leading travel and tourism trade events, brings together destinations, travel professionals, industry players and stakeholders to promote partnerships and opportunities within the African travel space.
