Gospel musician Diana Hamilton has emerged as the most awarded Ghanaian female artiste of all time, according to new data released by Charts Ghana, the country’s leading music chart platform.
The report places Diana Hamilton firmly at the top with 36 career awards, spanning honours from the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, Ghana Music Awards UK, Ghana Music Awards USA, Ghana Music Awards Europe and several other recognised schemes.
Charts Ghana explained that its all‑time awards ranking is built on a clearly defined tracking framework covering 52 award schemes, prioritising those that meet its internal documentation standards and for which reliable records exist.
“The omission of an award scheme from our current tracking does not automatically mean we consider it irrelevant, illegitimate, or unworthy of recognition,” the platform noted.
“Different awards have different histories, selection processes, levels of industry impact, and standards of documentation. These are factors we consider when determining what to include in our database. Our objective is not simply to accumulate the largest possible numbers.
“It is to build a credible, consistent, and well‑documented record of award achievements across Ghanaian music. We also recognise that historical award records can be fragmented, particularly for older ceremonies and awards with limited publicly accessible documentation.”
Following Diana Hamilton on the all‑time list is Efya Nokturnal with 17 awards, Piesie Esther with 15, Becca with 14, MzVee with 13, Wendy Shay, Moliy, and Adina Thembi with 12 each, Ebony Reigns with 11, and Ohemaa Mercy and Wiyaala with 9 apiece.
The top 20 is completed by Gyakie (8), Celestine Donkor (8), Empress Gifty (8), Eno Barony (7), Obaapa Christy (7), Daughters of Glorious Jesus (6), Esther Smith (6), Amaarae (6) and Cina Soul (6).
