Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted after his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, was appointed to coordinate President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in the state.
Following the announcement, Davido shared a video of the governor dancing and singing on his Instagram Story, drawing attention to the political development.
The appointment has generated interest because Governor Adeleke belongs to the Accord Party, while Tinubu’s re-election campaign is being backed by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor’s inclusion was contained in a revised APC Presidential Campaign Council list featuring political figures from different parties. Other prominent names reportedly included Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
The campaign council is scheduled to be inaugurated on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Davido’s reaction has attracted additional attention because of his previously stated opposition to the ruling party.
During the August 2026 Osun governorship election period, the singer declared his position in a post on social media.
“I can never support APC in my life!!!” he wrote.
He also stated that he had no preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 general election and would not support the ruling party.
Although Davido shared the video of his uncle following the appointment, he did not explicitly state in the information available whether his post was intended as an endorsement of the governor’s new political responsibility.
