Nigerian singer and actor Banky W has revealed that he is now an ordained pastor in the United States, describing the development as a new chapter in his spiritual journey.
The musician, whose real name is Olubankole Wellington, made the disclosure in a social media post reflecting on his personal growth and career following his unsuccessful 2023 election bid.
Banky W said his defeat at the polls left him heartbroken and prompted him to seek divine direction on his next steps, including whether to focus on politics, entertainment, business, or ministry.
According to him, the period of reflection helped him realise that these pursuits were not mutually exclusive and that he could combine his interests without abandoning his existing careers.
He disclosed that he now serves as an Associate Pastor and Global Ambassador at Union Church, while also working as a teacher and leader at Union College in the United States.
Despite taking on the new responsibilities, Banky W assured his fans that he would continue pursuing music, film, and business, adding that more projects were in the pipeline.
Reflecting on his political setback, the entertainer said the experience helped him understand that his life’s direction could extend beyond his original plans.
He noted that although the election did not produce the outcome he had hoped for, he believes his future holds greater possibilities than he had initially imagined.
