Shatta Wale Inspires UPSA Students, Pledges Free SRC Week Shows at Entrepreneurship Conference

Dancehall icon Shatta Wale electrified the UPSA 1000 & Ghana Entrepreneurship Conference on September 16, 2026, delivering a charged blend of motivation, performance, and generosity that left hundreds of students buzzing.

Addressing the packed auditorium, Shatta Wale urged young people to prioritise discipline, reinvention, and the power of ideas, drawing from his own evolution as an artiste and entrepreneur. His message—equal parts raw honesty and strategic insight—kept the crowd fully engaged.

The award-winning musician capped the event with a surprise performance and a bold pledge: two years of free shows for SRC Week, responding to a request from student leaders. UPSA honoured him with a citation recognising his impact and contribution.

Describing the event as “more than just a talk,” Shatta Wale said the students’ energy was deeply inspiring.

He later took to X to express appreciation to the university’s leadership and community.

“To the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, the leadership, faculty, staff, and especially the incredible students of the University of Professional Studies, Accra, I say a heartfelt THANK YOU. Today was more than a speaking engagement for me. It was a meeting of MINDS.”

He encouraged students to value their thinking above all else:
