Rev. Nat Awuni, veteran gospel musician and pastor, thrilled the audience with a captivating performance at the second anniversary celebration of the Alagumgube Association in New Jersey, United States.
The celebrated musician, who was among the performers at the two-day anniversary celebration held on August 21 and 22, 2026, treated guests to a powerful gospel ministration, drawing enthusiastic responses from the audience.
Rev. Awuni is recognised as one of the pioneers of gospel music in Ghana’s Upper East Region. He began his music career in the highlife era and was associated with groups including Uppers International and Western Diamonds Band before transitioning into gospel music following his Christian conversion in the United States.
His gospel ministry has produced several albums, including Lord I Love You, Charity Never Fails, Thank You Lord and Higher Grounds. His music catalogue also includes songs such as Woye Me Gyefo, You Are Faithful, How Wonderful, Have Your Way and I Am What God Says I Am.
Rev. Awuni’s musical journey has earned him recognition among gospel music audiences, particularly in Northern Ghana and the diaspora. He is also the founder and head pastor of Glorious Winners House of Praise, based in the United States, where he continues to combine his pastoral ministry with gospel music.
His appearance at the Alagumgube anniversary therefore provided a strong connection between music, faith, culture and the association’s celebration of its roots.
The second anniversary brought together members of the association, community leaders, traditional representatives and supporters from the diaspora. The event was designed not only to celebrate Alagumgube’s achievements over the past two years but also to promote unity, cultural identity and development among people connected to the Upper East Region.
As part of the anniversary activities, members also toured some iconic locations in New York on August 21, including Times Square, Rockefeller Centre, the World Trade Center and Sculpture Centre Hamilton. The tour was led by Rev. Nat Awuni, Vice Chairman of Alagumgube Global.
