Vida Adutwumwaa explains why OVO Arena Wembley were covered with curtains at BHIM Fest UK

Head of Public Relations at Burniton Music Group, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has explained why sections of the upper level at the OVO Arena Wembley were covered with curtains during Stonebwoy’s BHIM Festival UK concert.

Speaking during a phone-in interview on United Showbiz, Vida clarified that the curtains were not an indication that the concert failed to attract enough patrons, as suggested by some social media commentators.

According to her, BHIM Fest UK was sold out based on the event layout, with a maximum capacity of 12,500 people. She explained that the event layout was specifically designed around Stonebwoy’s stage production and performance energy while prioritising the safety of patrons.

Vida said the decision not to open the upper level to the public was also influenced by an agreement with the venue management.

She explained that the venue house had agreed with the organisers on a specific number of people who could be accommodated at the event, and the organisers could not exceed that agreed figure.

As a result, the upper level was not opened for additional patrons, with curtains used to cover those sections of the venue.

The explanation comes amid social media banter following Stonebwoy’s historic headline performance at the 12,500-capacity OVO Arena Wembley, with some critics using the covered sections to argue that the venue was not fully occupied.

However, Vida maintained that the concert had reached its maximum capacity according to the approved event layout and that the setup was deliberately structured to accommodate Stonebwoy’s stage production while ensuring safety.

Stonebwoy’s performance at the London venue has attracted widespread attention, with fans and industry players celebrating his achievement as another significant moment for Ghanaian music on the international stage. Social media reactions following the concert have also described the event as sold out.
