Nigerian superstar Burna Boy has become the first African artiste to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart.
His record‑breaking feat comes through “Dai Dai,” a high‑energy collaboration with Colombian icon Shakira for the FIFA World Cup. The track surged to No. 1 on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts this week, cementing Burna Boy’s dominance on the global stage.
The song also continued its upward climb in the United States, hitting a new peak of No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian star Tems is also enjoying a strong chart run. Her single “What You Need” rose to No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 after 15 weeks on the chart.
The track recently topped the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip‑Hop Airplay chart and the Mediabase Urban Radio Airplay chart — making Tems the first solo African artiste to achieve both milestones.
