Popular Ghanaian rapper Medikal has disclosed that his ex-wife, actress Fella Makafui, experienced severe complications, including comas, during her body enhancement procedures.
Following the birth of their daughter, Island, Medikal said Fella expressed a desire to undergo plastic surgery to maintain an hourglass figure, believing it would benefit her business. Medikal said initially he opposed the idea, citing his disapproval of plastic surgery despite having no issues with others who choose to undergo such procedures.
He explained, "After you (Fella) gave birth to our child, you told me that promoting your business would be slow, so you wanted to undergo plastic surgery. I expressed my reservations, saying I don't like women who opt for plastic surgery because I love seeing my partner naturally, as I was attracted to your natural body. I suggested you could sign other ladies as ambassadors for your business instead, but you objected and ceased speaking to me for three months."
This disagreement according to the award-winning artist caused significant tension between them, leading to an over three-month standoff. He clarified, "This isn't meant to disrespect those who have enhanced or plan to enhance their bodies, but I don't like it. Eventually, I had to let you go and cover the costs."
Medikal also recounted that while Fella was in Nigeria for the procedure, he grew increasingly anxious as his attempts to contact her went unanswered. "Your first attempt took you to Nigeria, which worried me, as you wanted a flat tummy and looked good. During the process, you went into a coma for minutes or hours, and I was texting you with no response because you were unconscious, all due to your desire for a flat tummy and to look good," he said.
The rapper further revealed that Fella later travelled to Turkey for additional enhancements, where she again fell into a coma, which he was told was a known risk of the procedure.
This series of events highlights the potential dangers associated with body enhancement surgeries and underscores the personal toll it took on the couple.
