Renowned Northern Ghanaian musician Fancy Gadam has said he will throw his support behind both Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and former president John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 presidential elections.
In an interview with radio station Property FM in Cape Coast, Fancy Gadam expressed his delight at the prospect of Ghana having its next president come from the Northern region for the first time.
"It feels good to have Ghana’s next president coming from the North,” Fancy Gadam said.
“As far as President Mahama and Dr. Bawumia are all coming from the North we are going to support both of them," he added.
The ‘Total Cheat’ hitmaker acknowledged that the will of God will ultimately determine who wins the election.
"No man can question God. It is almighty Allah that does whatever He wants," Fancy Gadam noted.
His comments come after the two major parties, NPP and NDC, selected candidates from Northern Ghana to lead their tickets in the next general elections.
The NPP elected incumbent Vice President Dr. Bawumia as its flagbearer while the NDC retained former president John Mahama.
