An Islamic wedding ceremony in the Kalpohin Township of Tamale Metropolis, has brought the twon to a standstill.

The lavish wedding, which took place on Sunday, August 13, saw a popular forex trader, Tahidu Sadiq, tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Tahidu Rahama. Both are believed to be in their mid or late 20s.

The event was attended by a large crowd of friends, family, and well-wishers of the bride and the groom who is said to be a very popuar forex trader in the Northern Region.

However, what caught most people's attention, was the large convoy in which the bride and his groom rode to and from the venue. The wedding convoy consisted of almost 100 plush cars, including Range Rovers, and Honda CRVs. The long convoy drew crowds as people stood by the roads to have a glimpse at the wedding procession.

In videos circulating on social media, one could see the number of cars on display, and how the amazed viewers cheered them on as they passed by.

According to sources, a day after the wedding also saw a massive display of class, and cars as the newly wedded couple went for thanksgiving. The convoy, on its way to the family house, further pulled another crowed of stunned onlookers.

Plush weddings in Ghana are often characterized by the display of elegance, class, and also wealth. This has been on the rise in recent times.

In March last year, popular Ghanaian businessman and politician, Kojo Jones, tied the knot in similar fashion. Hundreads of plush exotic cars formed the convoy that Mr. Jones and his wife rode in to the engagement and wedding venues.

Same can also be said of the popular wedding involving one of the sons of millionaire, Kwame Despite.

The wedding was dubbed #Kency2020, and was talk of town for several weeks.
