MAR 3, 2021 LISTEN

Kumawood actor, Joseph Osei well known as ‘Wayoosi’ has this morning taken his Covid-19 vaccine.

He says the injection is not hurtful and have no implications so Ghanaians should forget about negative speculations on social media and get vaccinated.

Speaking to globalnewsarena.com , he noted that he’s not having any strange feeling in the body after taking the vaccine and would urge everyone to take the vaccine to get protected from the deadly Coronavirus disease.

He said, even after taking the vaccine, he will still be observing the safety protocols for full protection.

Responding to a claim that why is government not providing malaria vaccine, he stated that, there has not been a situation where pubs, beaches, churches, football stadium etc has been closed down because of an outbreak of malaria.

Former President John Mahama, the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and other key personalities in Ghana have publicly vaccinated against the novel coronavirus.

These key personalities include the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin and Members of Parliament, the Chief Justice, Justice Anin Yeboah and Justices of the Superior Court of Judicature, Chairperson and Members of the Council of State, the Chief of Staff and senior officials at the Office of the President.

The exercise follows a similar one by President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and their spouses on Monday.

Amidst the ongoing debate about the safety of the vaccine and possible implications, the government on February 24, took delivery of 600,000 AstraZeneca dose as part of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) global vaccine-sharing program.

While some social media users insist they will not take the vaccine when offered, health experts have argued that more education needs to be done on the need to vaccinate.

The covid-19 vaccination exercise will be conducted in 43 districts, which are the epi-centres of the pandemic in the country.

They include 25 districts in Greater Accra, 16 in Ashanti, and two in the Central Region.
