Ace movie producer and entertainment analyst, Socrate Safo has waded into the seemingly endless debate emanating from the nominees of artist of the decade category at the forthcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019.
The awards event which comes off on 18th May 2019 at an undisclosed venue on Saturday has been characterized by a barrage of debatable issues on the artist of the decade category and who actually deserves such prestigious award.
Speaking to Peace Fm’s entertainment review host,Kwesi Aboagye, the Director of Creative Arts, responsible for Programmes & Projects at the Commission for National Culture stated that the highly animated and energetic dancehall artist artiste, Shatta Wale is his pick for the category of artiste of the decade – per the definition of the category – and not the much touted, highly anticipated Sarkodie.
“I think that influential artist like Shatta Wale has been previously robbed of one key category which is the artist of the year. Per the definition of artist of the year… if you look at the definition and relevance of the artists, Shatta stands poles apart from all the nominees there.” He opined.
That notwithstanding, he went on to congratulate Charter House for a splendid concept and also wished all the nominees in various categories all the best.
