
Ghanaian high-life musician, Dada Hafco won an award at the recently held Eastern Music Awards (EMA) in Koforidua.
Hafco’s song ‘Yebewu Nti’ was adjudged the Highlife Song of the Year in the region.
This means it was the highlife song which gained much prominence in the Eastern Region in the year under review.
Dada Hafco, who was excited about the award thanked the organised and his fans in the Eastern Region for appreciating the work he put in making the song.
“I am grateful to all my fans who made this possible. And to the organisers who put this together. I promise you that I have better compositions for release. Just keep supporting,” he said.
The ‘Bedianko’ hit maker also performed at the award ceremony.
Other performers were Nuru Shaba, Rap Tinii, Amazing Gee, Dadie Opanka, Choirmaster, among others.
The award scheme is aimed at rewarding the creative works of musicians who either come from the Eastern Region or reside there.
The award ceremony was hosted by Kwame Dadzie of Citi FM, with Starr TV hosts Jah Solo and Atisem Hemaa on the red carpet.
Gospel Musician Elder Kwasi Mireku was named honouree of the Lifetime Achievement award.
The event is organised by Hi 5 Empire in collaboration with the Eastern Region Chapter of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and the Presenters Association of the Eastern Region (PATER).
