Last weekend, the Upper West region witnessed Joy News’ Rafiq Salam tie the knot with the love of his life, princess of Guli, Shahida Seidu Braimah at a ceremony that could well pass for a Royal Wedding.
Rafiq Salam is a household name because of the unique manner in which he signs out his reports on Joy FM.
Mention Wa, the Upper West Regional capital to anyone in Ghana and you are most likely to hear them say, “Rafiq Salam, Waaaaaaaaaaaa.”
Rafiq is endeared to the entire nation. It was no surprise therefore, to see people in high places of society turn out on Saturday and Sunday to witness the colourful Islamic wedding which saw Rafiq Salam marry Princess Shahida Seidu, who is the daughter of elder statesman, Seidu Braimah, the current Upper West Representative on the Council of State.
Among the people who were at Rafiq’s wedding were the Upper West Regional Minister, Amin Amidu Sulemani and his deputy Dr. Museibu Mohammed Alfa, famous Lawyer, Yonnny Kulendi of Kulendi @ Law, former Deputy Director of the Road Fund, Ibrahim Seidu, and Chief Director of the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council, J.B. Atogiba.
