Amakye Dede Joins 'Operation Six Points' Campaign

Abrantie Amakye Dede, a renowned Ghanaian highlife musician has joined the "Operation Six Points" campaign launched by the Office of the President, this year to see the successful qualification of the senior national team, the Blacks Stars to its first time historic World Cup appearance in Germany 2006.

The musician announced his new love for the Black Stars on Tuesday at a press conference in Accra saying his "new love" and commitment rests with the passion of the nation - football.

The musician would as a beginning, on Friday, August 11 and every Friday, organise musical shows to be hosted by the Abrantie Spot at La Paz in Accra ahead of the Stars game against Uganda at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The special fundraising campaign dubbed "Stars Operation Six Point Fund", which was launched on Tuesday is to motivate the Black Stars towards their maiden world cup appearance in Germany 2006.

The musician, owner of the Lapaz-based Abrantie Spot intend using his spot as a conduit for lovers of the global leather to patronize good traditional music whilst gathering funds to assist the Stars to grab all the six remaining points to secure their qualification.

The Stars have a home and an away game against Uganda and Cape Verde respectively and amassing all six points would ensure an automatic qualification to the quadrennial fiesta.

The Highlife artist plans to team up with other musicians in his bid to encourage the Stars with what he termed as "our little way of motivating the Stars to go for the kill that will bring honour to the entire nation".

The National Supporters Union is also expected to join the musician's train with a common purpose to duty.
