Video: Emmanuel Adebayor Converts To Islam?

A video footage circulating on social media seem to indicate that Togolese international, Emmanuel Sheyi Adebayor has converted to Islam.

The 31-year-old is seen in the video reciting the Shahada (Islamic creed declaring belief in the oneness of God and the acceptance of Muhammad as God’s prophet) together with some other supposed new converts.

Clothed in a white jellabiya, Adebayor in declaration of his new faith said; “Wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah” (..and I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah).

Emmanuel Adebayor is stated in many publications as being very religious.

“Everything I do in life I put in the hands of God, my creator,”

“He gave me the chance to be where I am today and He’s the one that can take it all away from me. So at the team hotel, I pray before sleeping and I pray again in the morning. There is nothing more important for me than God, Adebayor said in a news publication .”

He has also been quoted as being a Christian by Wikipedia .
