The twenty fourth Annual Convocation of FORE School of Management, New Delhi was organized in FORE School of Management, Delhi on Sat July 22nd 2017, where, 151 students of PGDM programme (24th Batch), 38 students of the PGDM (International Business) programme (9th Batch) and 12 students of the PGDM (Working Managers) programme (24th Batch) received their diplomas at the ceremony. Mr. Ajay S. Shriram, Chairman & Sr. Managing Director, DCM Shriram Ltd., New Delhi was the honorable Chief Guest at the Convocation Ceremony.

Dr. Jitendra K. Das, Director, FORE, presented the activity report card for the institute for the year 2016-17. FORE received NBA accreditation for the year 2017-19 for both PGDM and PGDM-IB programs and was selected for following awards during 2016-17: (1) ‘Selected Brand - Asia’s 100 Greatest Brands & Leaders 2016’ award in the Indo-Singapore Business Congress “Asia’s Greatest Brands & Leaders 2016” organised by AsiaOne Magazine & URS Media Consulting Pvt. Ltd. at Singapore. (ii) ‘Certificate of Excellence’ and the ‘Exemplary Leader in Education in Asia Pacific Award’ in the Asia Pacific Education and Technology Summit & Awards (APETA) 2016 organised by ASSOCHAM India and The Education Post at Goa.

Apart from dwelling on the research output by the faculty and the laurels earned by FORE students at various forums, he emphasized on how FORE was entering a new phase of growth by going international. He informed about the various MOUs which FORE has signed with international universities and the future plans of making FORE a multi-campus institute of high repute. Due to its strong corporate connect FORE continued to do well in the placements.

The highest offer which was made this year was of INR 18 lacs per annum while the average compensation offered was INR 9.5 lac per annum.

Mr. Ajay S. Shriram, who represents 4th generation of the founder of DCM Group and is the Chairman and Senior Managing Director of DCM Shriram Ltd. a leading business conglomerate with a group turnover of approximately US $1 billion, in his speech mentioned that the convocation day is as a heady mix of emotions which makes it significant in one’s life. “Transitioning from academia to industry is just one step change as a new journey of learning begins. If anybody feels they know it all, that is the start of the downfall. Formal education gives us a basic foundation of learning but learning on the job is a different learning which continues throughout ones entire career. Today the learning opportunity with the digital content is absolutely unlimited. Learning curve should never stop”, said Mr. Shriram.

Mr Ajay Shriram is also currently the Chairman of CII-FBN India Chapter and is also Chairman, Board of Governors, IIM Sirmaur; Chairman, Governing Body, Shri Ram College of Commerce; Member, Board of Governors, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (Ministry of Corporate Affairs); Trustee, SOS Children Villages of India and Patron, Save the Children India.

The Board of Directors of FORE welcomed the guests to the 24th Annual Convocation.

Mr. R.C. Sharma, former Director, CBI India, President, FORE, advised students on the importance of ethics in their personal and professional life and Mr. T.C. Venkat Subramanian, Former CMD - EXIM Bank of India, board member at FORE, did the honours of thanking everyone present. The Convocation was cast live for all who could not make it physically.
