Ghana launches housing sector assessment to drive affordable housing strategy

The government, through the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources and the National Homeownership Fund, has partnered with Shelter Afrique Development Bank to assess Ghana's housing and urban development sector using the VIRAL Assessment framework.

Speaking at the launch, Works, Housing and Water Resources Minister Kenneth Gilbert Adjei said the assessment will provide evidence to guide the development of a national housing and urban development strategy.

He noted that the initiative will help address challenges in the housing sector, expand access to affordable housing and promote sustainable urban growth across the country.
