Afigya Sekyere East NPP Executives Reject Annulment Of Constituency Elections

Constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency have rejected the party's decision to annul the recent constituency executive elections.

Addressing a press conference in the constituency, Chairman-elect Kwaku Ofosu described the decision as an affront to internal democracy.

The executives insisted that the Regional Executive Committee supervised and authorised every stage of the election process, which they said resulted in the successful conduct of the polls.

On the issue of a court injunction, the executives argued that the interim injunction granted by the High Court had lapsed and was not renewed before the elections were held.

They are therefore calling on the party leadership to respect the outcome of the election and the choice of delegates.
