Retired Supreme Court Justice William Atuguba has criticised what he describes as excessive party loyalty among some Members of Parliament, arguing that it has affected Parliament's ability to prioritise the interests of Ghanaians.
Justice Atuguba made the remarks at the D.F. Annan Memorial Lecture held in Parliament, where he reflected on governance, democracy and the role of state institutions.
He argued that lawmakers must place the national interest above partisan considerations to strengthen parliamentary oversight and accountability.
