Suspend Tribunal Bill Until Constitutional Review Is Complete – TUC

The Trades Union Congress (TUC) has called on the government to suspend the passage of the Tribunal Bill, 2026, until the constitutional review process is completed.
Speaking on Eyewitness News, Deputy General Secretary of the TUC, Dr Kwabena Nyarko Otoo, said government should first publish the Constitutional Review Committee's report and its response before proceeding with the Bill.
He explained that the TUC had participated in the constitutional review process and recommended the removal of regional tribunals from the Constitution, a proposal he said was accepted by the committee.
Dr Otoo argued that the Tribunal Bill should be considered within the broader constitutional review process and called on government to halt the process until stakeholders have had the opportunity to engage with the report.
