Over 100 Chinese Illegal Miners Arrested – NAIMOS Gives Latest Update

Speaking about recent operations, the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) says it has arrested more than 100 Chinese nationals involved in illegal mining activities across the country.

Spokesperson for NAIMOS, Paa Kwesi Schandorf, disclosed that the individuals are currently being processed and handled in accordance with the law.

He noted that the arrests form part of intensified operations aimed at clamping down on illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, and restoring sanity to affected water bodies and forest reserves.

Authorities say all suspects are being dealt with through due legal processes as enforcement efforts continue nationwide.
