Chief Director at the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology, Suweibatu Adams, has revealed that Ghana's updated climate framework includes plans for nuclear energy, expanded renewable power, electric vehicles, and modern rail infrastructure.
According to her, the initiatives form part of a long-term low-carbon development strategy aimed at reducing emissions while supporting economic growth and industrial transformation.
The updated framework positions energy diversification and sustainable transport systems as key pillars of Ghana's climate response agenda.
She made the disclosure during discussions on Ghana's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), which outline the country's commitments to global climate action targets.
The strategy reflects Ghana's broader ambition to transition toward cleaner energy sources and more sustainable infrastructure systems in the coming decades.
