AshantiGold defender, Kwadwo Amoako has shared that his mother could not hold her tears following his invitation to the Black Stars.
The Miners youngster is part of the four local players called up for Ghana's doubleheader against Sudan in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
In an interview with Ashh FM, Amoako revealed what he encountered after informing his mother of the glamorous chance awarded her son.
“We (AshantiGold) had finished training so I came home to rest. I then heard my name on the radio as the presenter mentioned the Black Stars squad for the Sudan game so I didn’t panic.
“My teammates came to my place with congratulatory messages.”
“When I called my mum, she was happy but also crying and advised me to work hard as she backs me in prayers”.
Amoako concluded by focusing on the national team task ahead.
“Every player’s wish is to play for the senior national team and I believed in myself too. I thank God for this opportunity and will make use of this moment.
Yahaya Mohammed, Richard Attah and Habib Mohammed are the other home-based players in the 23-man squad.
Ghana will first be hosting Sudan at Cape Coast Stadium on March 27 before travelling to Omdurman for the reverse fixture three days after.
