Accra, April 5, GNA - Isaac Paha has been appointed as the new coach of the national women's team, the Black Queens. Coach Paha replaces Bashiru Hayford who doubles as trainer of Premiership side, Power FC.
Coach Paha is said to have received his engagement letter though the GNA Sports can confirm that the Premiership trainer, Hayford is yet to be told his services has been dispensed with.
The Sekondi-based Paha is said to have already communicated his acceptance of the job previously held by Oko Aryee and John Eshun and would soon meet his employers to commence negotiations. The Queens are billed to commence their qualifiers this June for both the World Cup and African Women Championship (AWC) competitions all slated for next year.
Coach Hayford was engaged last year but never had the privilege of leading the team in any competitive game though they toured the country at a point and did a number of camping. Coach Paha captained the national team, the Black Stars in the 70's and previously coached Accra Hearts of Oak and Sekondi Hasaacas. He previously acted as a stand in coach for the Stars during the reign of former Ghana Football Association's (GFA) boss, Ben Koufie.
