All is set for the first ever only women’s 5K Run on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Marina Mall at the Airport area.
According to the event organisers, Millennium Marathon Sports Ltd, the event starts at 6pm prompt with a few exercises and stretching.
Ms. Cathy Morton, the race director said the event is to raise awareness on mental health among women and get funds for the mental hospitals.
She noted that mental health has been taken for granted and many homes and families are facing mental problems.
She said government alone can not solve all the problems in the country, thus the need for people with sober hearts and caring minds to support or initiate a course for others to follow.
According to Ms Morton, it has not been easy getting support for the project, but thanks God and a few benevolent companies like the Marina Mall, Zen Garden, Omo from Unilever, Blue Skies, Dark & Lovely, Verna Water from Twellium Ghana Ltd, PUSH by Esi Yankah, Numero Uno and Claron Health International who have shown some love.
She said the doors for support are not closed as they want to keep on supporting a worthy cause and want other bigger institutions to support.
