Barcelona have launched their new Nike kit for 2018/19, with the aid of a diver, synchronised swimmers, a drone and the stunning backdrop of the city.

Stars from Barca's various sides, including female and youth teams, were invited to the launch, with Philippe Coutinho representing the men's first team.

The new kit features 10 pairs of vertical blue and maroon stripes, each representing one of the districts of Barcelona, which Nike claim are "the force behind the Blaugrana."

The presentation of the kit was held at the city's Montjuic swimming pools, which assumed the iconic status in the city during the 1992 Olympic Games.

Diver Adria Garcia - a three-time Spanish champion - leapt into the pool with a huge model of the kit being flown over the city by a drone behind him. Ten synchronised swimmers then performed in the pool as the shirt was flown behind them.

Club president Josep Maria Bartomeu and Barcelona mayoress Ada Colau were also at the presentation, which follows on from Nike's recent campaigns to associate club's strips with their cities.

Barca will wear the kit for the first time in Sunday's final game of the season at home to Real Sociedad, Andres Iniesta's final appearance of his trophy-laden Barca career, and it will go on sale on Monday.

Iniesta was honoured at an event at the Nou Camp on Friday night, where Bartomeu paid tribute to him.

“His idea of football is the essence of Barca," he said.

"He has the values that Barça transmits and that is his legacy."
