Players of Ghana's U20 side the Black Satellites have collectively shown disappointment in their inability to qualify for the 2017 U20 Afcon in Zambia following the 2-3 aggregate loss to the Young Lions of Terrenga of Senegal.
Ghana won the second leg by a lone goal in Cape Coast but the 3-1 first leg loss in Senegal secured qualification for the visitors.
And the Ghanaian players have expressed their disappointment in missing out on the championship for the first time since 2013.
Speaking to Ghanasoccernet.com, striker Dauda Mohammed, winger winger Yaw Yeboah and forward Evans Mensah expressed disappointment in the result of the game which saw Senegal sailing through to the U20 Afcon in Zambia next year.
Dauda Mohammed: "We are very disappointed that we couldn't make it. Despite the fact that we lost the first leg by 3-1 two weeks ago in Senegal, we were confident that we will qualify but we couldn't. We are very disappointed but that is football."
Yaw Yeboah: "It's a huge disappointment. You should have been able to make it to the Afcon for the third time in a row but the Senegalese were also determined to go ahead of us. In the end they made it. We are disappointed but what can we do."
Evans Mensah: "Every young player has a beginning and this was the beginning for us. But unfortunately we couldn't make it. We are hugely disappointed but that is football. We only pray for better chances to come to push our career to the next level."
