Mr. Charles Addo Odametey, one time skipper of the senior national team, the Black Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak passed on at age 69

According to a family source, Addo Odametey who captained the Stars from 1964 to 1970 passed away on December 29 after a short illness

Addo Odametey who skippered the Black Stars to victory in the 1965 African Cup of Nations in Tunisia was survived by a wife and six children.

He was also part of the Black Stars team that won the AFCON in 1963, which happened to be their maiden tournament and the Hearts of Oak team that won the first ever national league in Ghana in 1956.
