Messi is my role model – Aspire Academy’s whiz kid Joseph Akomadi. The former Keliz FC dribbling magician has revealed he looks up to the Barcelona forward to step up his game.
Aspire Academy left-footed midfielder Joseph Akomadi has said FC Barcelona and currently world best player Lionel Messi is his role model.
The 15-year-old free scoring midfielder who has been in a tremendous form for Aspire this season said he has been watching a lot of video clips of the Barcelona forward to enhance His skills.
“I do watch a lot of players in my position, but (Lionel) Messi is a great role model for everyone, including me, Akomadi told Sportsworldghana.com in an exclusive interview.
“I chose Messi as my role model in world football not simply because he’s the world best player but because we have some similarities in our style of play.
Akomadi added: He has been excellent for both club and country. He is a great role model for me. He was someone I looked up to when I was younger. I will continue to work hard in other to be like him in future.
Affectionately called Messi, the midfielder has scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists for the Aspire Academy so far this season.
