Francis Coffie has launched his Al Merreikh career to the perfect start after scoring the club's opening goal of the new Sudani Premier League season on Tuesday as they won 3-1 against Al Rabta Kosti.
The midfielder who joined the club for this season's Sudan league and CAF Champions' League campaigns was at the perfect place at the perfect time in the 7th minute to notch in the goal that propelled Al Merreikh to all three points on the opening match day of the 2015 season.
"Thanks to almighty God, I have scored my first goal in our first league match and we won 3-1," the former Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold player posted on his Facebook Timeline soon after the game.
"I'm so happy and great but it's just the beginning, I want to score more goals and help my club to win more trophies so definitely there is more to come," Coffie later told Allsports.com.gh exclusively.
The goal and result maintained Coffie and compatriot, Augustine Okrah's perfect start to their respective careers at Al Merreikh after both featured in the club's pre-season port Sudan Festival Cup victory.
Okrah was however one of six top players rested by Al Merreikh's German coach, Michael Kruger for Tuesday's game after emerging the best player of their Festival Cup victory and is expected to return for the next game at Merikh Kosti on Saturday. Follow @thedonplato
