UK based Ghanaian boxer, Isaac Dogboe marked his US debut with a resounding victory over American, Ronald Rodriguez at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, San Diego, California on Friday night.
20 year old Super Bantamweight, Dogboe alias Brave-Son claimed a technical knockout win over the 38 year old Rodriguez after 2 minutes, 24 seconds in round two of their scheduled 4-rounder to announce his arrival on the US boxing stage.
It also ensured a third straight victory for the relatively young career of the Ghanaian who has now fought all three bouts of his still burgeoning professional career in three different countries having made his debut in Switzerland way back on August 30 last year.
Dogboe, a London 2012 Olympic Games boxer, then stopped Csaba Toth in round 3 of their scheduled 6-round contest at the Sternensaal in the Swiss City of Berne to get his career off to a winning start.
But it will be the last fight of 2013 for UK based Dogboe who only returned into the ring on June 20 this year against Andy Harris at the Waterfront Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Again the Ghanaian was a victor by a unanimous points verdict even though he floored Harris, ironically nicknamed Thunder in round one of the four rounds of boxing.
Keen on honing his skills as he climbs up in pursuit of the championship belts he so craves, Accra-born Isaac Dogboe has relocated to the USA for the next phase of his development, hence last night's fight against Rodriguez who is nearly twice Brace-Son's age.
But Dogboe is unfazed as he demonstrated by humiliating his more experienced and elderly opponent into submission to maintain the 100% start to his fight career. Follow @thedonplato
